IN 1978 THE CHILDREN'S PLACE began providing critical early intervention services to the community's youngest members who had suffered abuse and neglect. The Children's Place was one of the first groups to understand the concept of child abuse and today remains unique within the Kansas City metropolitan area with its continued focus on young children. Each day the teacher and therapist provide traumatized young children with the specialized evidence-based treatments needed to overcome many harmful experiences
